Quality Signs- Rooster Days

Oklahoma’s longest continuous running festival is here for its 84th annual showing, the Rooster Days Festival!

Everyone and anyone from Broken Arrow or the in surrounding areas know about the Rooster Days. Quality Signs insists on experiencing with all of the traditional festival fanfare that happens. Rooster Days is one of Oklahoma’s longest living festivals that has occurred and encourages people to come out for the live entertainment, Miss Rooster Days contest and the exciting festival atmosphere.

At the festival, you’ll be able to partake in family-friendly activities, carnival rides, wonderful food and live music. Some of the vendors are from northeastern Oklahoma that come and display their goods to the attendees. There will be wine vendors, outdoor vendors and food vendors. You’re definitely in for a treat!

Along with the festival fun, there are a couple other events happening during the festival. There is the Rooster Run that is on Saturday, May 2. This run is a fun run and encourages people to get up and move. It’s the fifth year of the multiple run events. You have your choice of participating in the 5K run or walk, a 15K run or the 1 mile TTCU Fun Run! The Rooster Run will get everyone excited for the upcoming festival on May 8 and 9.

In addition to the running events, Rooster Days holds a Miss Rooster Days contest. The pageant is open to all of the high school sophomore and junior girls within the City of Broken Arrow. Not only is this just a recognition contest, the crowned Miss Rooster serves as Ambassador to Broken Arrow. Her duties will entail a couple different things such as serving the Taste of Summer planning committee, representing the youth of Broken Arrow at various events, attending the ground breaking and ribbon cuttings as an honorary member of the Broken Arrow Chamber Ambassador Club and a couple other responsible roles.

As always, there is the 20th annual Rooster Egg Hunt that will kick off April 27. Many prizes of cash will be given away to the winners of the egg hunt. Another great thing happening is the Rooster and Rods. Quality Signs loves this event because it’s the two-day event of hosting a car and truck “show off” and Jeep Meet Up at the festival. It costs nothing to participate and all car types are welcomed such as cars, trucks, jeeps, motorcycles and etc. Awards will be given to those in their particular categories. There will also be a parade held on May 9 that will include some of the high school bands, floats from businesses and classic cars.

This event couldn’t happen every year for the past 84 years if the City of Broken Arrow didn’t have such great volunteers and people to make it happen. The festival is presented by TTCU and has multiple sponsors such as Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Flight Safety, AVB, Magnum Construction Inc., Arvest and Republic Services.

Rock out with the Rooster on May 8-9! Quality Signs will be there along with other local businesses, vendors and festival fun.
